The BigBrother Africa: Interview with Angola’s Weza |
Addis Ababa, July 17, 2011, Ezega.com. The suspense and drama in the Big Brother Africa Amplified House is still on. Last Sunday the controversial character of the house Angolan Weza was evicted with Ghanaian Alex and Botswana’s Miss P. Both women were in ‘love’ with the ladies man Alex, which made the show and their eviction more interesting.
The two women and Kenya’s Millicent were in competition for Alex’s heart in what will definitely go into the show’s history books as one of the ‘fiercely’ contested love story since the Big Brother Africa show began in 2003. With about 20 more days to go, half (13) of the housemates have been evicted so far from season six, Big Brother Africa Amplified. The 26 years TV presenter from Angola is now out of the rivalry. Asked by Host IX if she would date Alex outside the house, she said they are just a ‘really good friends’ and she wouldn’t date him since he has a girlfriend. Seble Teweldebirhan had the opportunity to have a phone interview with her after her eviction last Sunday.Ezega.com – How was your stay in Big Brother Africa House? Weza – It was crazy. But, I enjoyed myself to the utmost and I loved every minute of it.Ezega.com- How does the eviction make you feel? Weza – I always say that I went to the house for exposure. All I needed was to have more publicity and that is exactly what I got. Obviously, we all want to make it to the end not only for the money but also to take the name of our country to that extent. But it didn’t happen and I think it was not meant to be for me. Still, I am very happy with the result I got already and I believe my job was done there.Ezega.com – Do you think you got what you wanted from the Big Brother House? Weza – Yes. I say I did take my share and I am grateful for that.Ezega.com – You are a TV presenter and many expected you might win because you are experienced being exposed to TV and the camera. We all thought you were in a better position to handle the exposure. Did you feel the same that your experience will help in the house? Weza – I thought so. I felt like I knew exactly what was coming and I planned to take advantage of my experience. However, once I got in the house, I have learned that my experience meant nothing for the viewers. It did help me to be a little more being eloquent. But in terms of handling certain live situations, it did not help. Ezega.com – What did you think of the Ethiopians Hanny and Danny? Danny is now evicted; do you think Hanny will go to the final? Weza – I became very close with the Ethiopians. I even met Danny yesterday. He was one of my best friends in the house. I also love Hanny. I admire her and I believe she is going a long way in the Big Brothers show.It was not a love affair. I know it looks like it but it certainly was not. In the house, whatever your strategy might be, you will get lonely at some point. You might also be comfortable with some people than others. Mine just got a little bit out of control. To be honest, I enjoyed the drama. The problem was I did not think it was going to get me into many troubles.
