Three policemen died Rivers
In a view hours after two policemen were died on gunmen in RIVERS STATE, While another three have been felled in similar circumstance.
This time, the hoodlums were said to have struck at two separate spotted Aluu town, Choba, the neighbouring university community.The two attacks occurred just as unofficial reports hinted of the attack of some marine policemen along Esaka/Nembe River axis by suspected sea pirates.
It was gathered that the command lost two of its personnel in Aluu and one in Choba.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attacks.
The incidents coming after two previous attacks within six days have raised suspicion that a killer squad targeting police personnel could be on the prowl.
Repeated efforts to get official police reaction on the development before press time drew blank.
However, the police spokesman, Mr. Benjamin urged members of the public not to be disillusioned by the incident, assuring that the police was on top of the situation.
Speaking in a radio interview, Mr. Benjamin, a (DSP) appealed for information that could lead to arrest of criminals and assured that such information would be treated with utmost confidentiality.
