IN INEC office,PDP denies plot of bomb
IN DELTA STATE,ASABA-CHAIRMAN of the Peoples Democratic Party, Delta State, Chief Mr Peter Nwabaoshi, has denied alleged plot by his party to bomb the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, office, Asaba,Delta State.
the Peoples Democratic Party (DPP) Elders and Stakeholders Forum in Delta State, had, in a statement alleged that a political party (name withheld) had concluded arrangements to bomb INEC, Asaba, office, to destroy electoral materials used during the April 26, governorship elections in a bid to frustrate his party’s (DPP) case before the Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal sittting in Asaba,Delta State.
Nwaboshi maintained that, “given the manner the allegation was made by DPP, that a political party wants to bomb INEC office to destroy electoral materials in order to incapacitate their petition at the tribunal, already sitting at Asaba, I suspect it was DPP that had indeed, finalised plans to bomb INEC office.”
He called on security agents to properly investigate the matter and bring the conspirators to book.
Also, commenting on the planned bomb attack, Peoples Redemption Party, (PRP), In governorship candidate for last governorship election in the delta state, chief Emmanuel Igbini, said, “since the refusal to disclose the name of the opposition party implies that my party, the PRP is a suspect, I demand the Police to invited the Peoples Democratic Party to assist with information at its disposal.
